Checking …

No cookies are used anywhere on this site. The device key sits in your browser storage and is sent only when you take part in the ranking. The country is what you type in - it is never derived from your IP address.

Two steps, and you can stop after the first

The device key is a random number that lives in your browser. The server stores only a fingerprint of it, plus a nickname it made up. That is enough to appear on the ranking. There is no name, no address, no e-mail - and if you delete it, nothing of yours remains.

The account adds exactly one thing: your e-mail address. It is only needed if you want your progress on a second device, and later for a subscription. If one device is enough for you, you never need it.

What is stored, and where

  • In your browser: everything you practice - character statistics, confusion pairs, settings, speeds. It never leaves the device unless you upload it yourself.
  • On the server, with a device key: the fingerprint of the key, your nickname, the country you typed in, and later your results in the daily challenge.
  • On the server, with an account: additionally your e-mail address and a hash of your password.

Not stored: your IP address, any location derived from it, your real name, or any tracking of what you look at. There are no cookies on this site at all - the device key travels in a header that only this page sets.

Why the nickname is not free text

Either the site picks a name for you - SWIFT-FOX, CALM-HERON - or you enter a real amateur radio callsign, which is checked against the usual pattern.

The reason is honest and practical: a public list of freely chosen names has to be moderated by somebody, and that somebody would be one person doing it in their spare time. A generated name cannot insult anyone, and among radio operators a callsign is the natural currency anyway.

Frequently asked questions

  • Do I need this to use the site?

No. Translator, decoder, trainers, simulator - everything works without any of this. The only thing you cannot do is appear on a ranking.

  • What happens when I delete the account?

The e-mail address, the password and the nickname are removed immediately and the devices are unlinked. Results already submitted stay in the ranking without a name, because deleting them would move everybody else's position.

  • Can I take my progress to another browser?

Yes, and without an account: "Download my data" gives you a JSON file, "Load data" reads it back in elsewhere. An account only makes that automatic.

  • Why 16 and older?

Under German data protection law, services like this need parental consent below 16. Rather than collect a birth date, the site asks for a confirmation - and keeps everything else usable without an account.
